Chief Deputy Mike Carlson Chief Deputy Mike Carlson has served as a licensed peace officer for 20 years and was a highly decorated Minneapolis Police Officer before joining the Sheriff's Office. He was awarded the Medal of Valor and eight Medals of Commendation, among many other honors. In the Minneapolis Police Department, Carlson commanded the Homicide Unit, the Minneapolis/Hennepin County Narcotics Task Force and also supervised the highly successful Violent Offender Task Force, the Weapons Task Force, and the Joint Terrorism Task Force. Under Chief Carlson's leadership, these federal, state and local task forces in Minneapolis achieved the following results; more than 84 federal indictments of violent gang members, 200 gang member arrests, the confiscation of 125 guns, and more than $2 million in federal forfeitures. Hennepin County Sheriff Rich Stanek selected Chief Carlson to command the daily operations of the Sheriff's Office.  In August 2007, Chief Carlson served as the Incident Commander for the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office river recovery operations after the I-35W bridge collapsed.
Inspector Storms Inspector Jeffrey Storms commands the Enforcement Services Bureau which includes the Patrol Division, Communications Division, and Information Technology Division. Inspector Storms formerly served as a lieutenant in the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Water Patrol Unit, promoting boat and water safety, investigating water related accidents and supervising the Underwater Recovery Team. He started as a Hennepin County Detention Deputy in 1992. He’s also worked as a sergeant in the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division. Inspector Storms earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from Mankato State University. He’s a graduate of the FBI National Academy. 
Inspector Martin Inspector Tracey Martin
Inspector Tracey Martin directs the Administrative Services Bureau which develops training and procedures for employees. Previously, she has worked in Court Security, the Background Unit, Internal Affairs, and Professional Standards. The public may recognize Inspector Martin because she has served as the media spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office. She began her career at the Sheriff’s Office in 1996 as a student in the Cadet Program. Inspector Martin has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Minnesota. She currently serves on the Minnesota POST Board (Minnesota Peace Officer Standards and Training Board).
Inspector Roberts Inspector Curtis Roberts 
commands the Detention/Court Services Bureau. He began his career as a deputy sheriff in 1980 and has worked in the Adult Detention, Communications and Patrol Divisions and the Civil Unit. Previously, he served as Inspector of the Administrative Services Bureau. Inspector Roberts is a veteran of the United States Air Force and graduate of the Colorado Springs Police Academy. He received an Associate of Science degree from Colorado Technical College and a Bachelor of Science degree from Mankato State University. Inspector Roberts has over 21 years firefighting experience with the Maple Grove Fire Department.
Inspector Carver

Inspector Kip Carver commands the Investigations Bureau. He has been with the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office since 1990. He began in the Adult Detention Center and then moved to the Court Security Division in 1993. He has worked as a Crime Laboratory Technician, Crime Scene Sergeant, Internal Affairs investigator, and Patrol Unit Sergeant. In 2007, he was promoted to lieutenant and assigned to the Water Patrol Unit. Inspector Carver has an AAS degree in law enforcement from Inver Hills Community College and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Concordia University-St Paul. He attended the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command in 2009.
