Sex Trafficking Prevention
What is sex trafficking? Simply put, it is the buying and selling of people for sex. It is among the fastest growing criminal industries in the world. It is happening throughout the U.S. and it is taking place in Hennepin County. Crossing a border is not necessary to be considered sex trafficking.
The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office investigates and arrests individuals involved in the prostitution and trafficking of others. In addition, the Sheriff's Office works in partnership with law enforcement and community partners on prevention and education efforts. For example, we are providing training to hotel and motel workers so that they can recognize potential signs of sex trafficking and so that they can learn how to report the suspicious activity. Click here to watch a training video for the hospitality industry.
We urge allcitizens to report suspicious activity. If you See Something, Say Something.
