Send money to a detainee
Detainees are charged a transaction fee when they withdraw money from their account:
- The fee is 10% of the transaction or a $10 maximum.
- No fees apply to initial deposits, final withdrawals, or money deposited for bail.
Send money
You have several ways to get money to a detainee.
In person
You can drop off money at either jail location.

- You can drop off money 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
- Use the cash deposit machine in the front lobby.
- You need the exact spelling of the detainee's name and their personal identification number (PAK). A daily roster is posted in the lobby.

Online
Deposit money directly into a detainee's account:
- Visit the Access Corrections website.
- Choose Hennepin County Adult Detention Center in Downtown Minneapolis.
- Fees apply to this process.
By U.S. mail
- Send cash or money order payable to the inmate.
- Mail the payment to 401 S. 4th Ave., Suite #100, Minneapolis, MN 55415.
- These may be held for verification before money is available to the detainee.
